One Year Anniversay & Temple Sealing!!!!!!

Kyle and I were so excited these past couple of months because for our one year anniversary, we received our Endowments and were Sealed together for Time and all Eternity! We planned to go to the Draper, Utah Temple, which is gorgeous! Also, it turned out to be a beautiful day outside, as well as inside the Temple. :) We were so grateful to have our family and friends who were able to make it attend and share our special day.
What made it so special was that we went through for the first time together, receiving our Endowments and directly following, went straight in to be Sealed. :)

-I need to write about some of these pictures for a second. :)
The second picture with us coming out of the doors, Tyler and Seth accidently opened the doors too hard and they banged open really loud. It was pretty funny :)
The sixth picture with Kyle's family and Tyler is separate and looking sad is because Tyler doesn't have a spouse, so he is sad. But he is 16, so it will be okay :)
The thirteenth picture with Kyle and me is a classic Kyle and JaNae pose. Just us being silly!

Fiesta Days 2014

This year's
Fiesta Days was a lot of fun! We started out this year's celebration by going to the car show. As we were walking around, one of the owners of a T-Top Corvette, that looked similar to the one my dad had, insisted that I come sit in the driver's seat and get some pictures. The whole time he was telling me things to act out for the camera and it made me laugh so much! At one point he was telling me to act as if I was going to run Kyle over! Haha :) My favorite car was the Back to the Future Delorean!! There was even a Flux Capacitor and the hat from 2015 inside!! If I could have one of those cars, it would be awesome! Then on the 24th we went to the Parade with my family and there were a lot of floats, as always! :P I thought the SF Airport's
float was the coolest with these mini helicopters. Later that day we were invited to have a picnic at my parent's house with all of my siblings. All the food was really yummy that everyone brought! And finally, we were able to go the rodeo with Kyle's family. We watched the steer wrestling which was pretty good. Also, there was a lady who did tricks with 4 horses. She stood on two, but was leading four horses at once. It was amazing what she could control these horses to do. She had them all jump over the poles, and she even did tricks while riding as well. My favorite part of the rodeo is the Barrel racing, but I was pretty disappointed this year because only one girl got through without hitting any barrel's. All in all, it was a very memorable Fiesta Days!

Fruit Leather!

For Christmas, one of my gifts was a food dehydrator. I had been looking forward to using it to make some fruit leather. Growing up, my mom used to make apricot fruit leather for us, and I wanted to try it out. My grandpa Stickney has a nice apricot tree and he let me come pick some to have. I took them home, cut them in half to get the pit out, and used my blender to make it into a purée. I just kind of tested it to see how much sugar it needed, making it sweeter if I thought it would be better, then I spread it on each dehydrator tray. After rotating the trays for about 5 hours I decided they were done. But turned out that wax paper was not the right choice to have the fruit leather on. :( Second try I used plastic wrap, and it turned out delicious!! I still had some more purée so I filled up my trays for a third time. After about an hour my dehydrator started making a weird noise. Kinda what a air mattress pump sounds like, aka not good. All of a sudden, the dehydrator stopped making any noise and won't turn on again. :( So basically those trays went to waste as well as the rest of my apricots. Sad day! But hopefully I can get it fixed or replaced soon! That dehydrator was pretty awesome up until it died. R.I.P. Dehydrator.

Summer in our apartment

I just want to say how grateful I am for air conditioning! I'm pretty sure that we would have had heat exhaustion by now without it. Thankfully, I haven't seen the temperature go any higher than 86,)and since it is now August, the temperatures haven't been so crazy. Anyways, I just wanted to be able to remember how hot it got in our apartment. :) And I'm sure a lot of people have the same conflict!

                        Life is fun! :)

The Fourth of July 2014

This year for the Fourth of July, we were able to spend the day with family and each other. One of the things that I enjoy doing around this time of year is walking around the booths to see all the interesting things people have to sell. In the late afternoon, we went to Provo to do just that. We each bought one thing that really caught our attention. What I got was from the booth we spent the most time at. They had different insects, flowers and small sea animals in a kind of hard plastic so you could see them. The one that I chose was a small coral colored flower with a glow in the dark back color. As we walked around Kyle found something that he wanted which was a picture with his name and the superman symbol inside it. (We just watched the whole Smallville series and he loved it so much.) One of the cool things that was by the booths was all of the food trucks that were lined up. Apparently everyone wants to own a food truck with something original they make. The food we decided to try was gourmet Mac and cheese. It was actually pretty good because it had bigger noodles and a different kind of sauce with bread crumbs on top. If we ever see that food truck driving around, we will definitely get it again. After that, we headed north to go to the Stadium of Fire! This year Carrie Underwood was the main performer with Studio C (the BYU sketch-comedy team) as the second performers. Kyle and I had so much fun! Carrie Underwood was amazing as usual, and the fireworks were beautiful as well. I am so glad that we were able to go with Kyle's family and have a fun Independence Day! :)

Kyle's Day of Birth

For Kyle's birthday this year,
I surprised him when he woke up with balloons!
He wasn't expecting it at all :)

We got him a Cookies and Cream cake
(that is his favorite kind of chocolate bar)
to celebrate at work.
And of course we made him blow out some candles!

Later that night we went to Red Robin with his family for dinner. We had also celebrated with my family the previous Sunday. The birthday present Kyle was asking for most was LED headlights for the truck. But, we weren't able to buy them right now, so we set money aside for that, and are still saving up! :)

First Camping Trip this Summer!

On June 20th and 21st, we were able to plan a trip to go camping to Gooseberry reservoir with Blake and Chantel! I was surprised that I had never heard of it before, even though it is pretty close by, just up Fairview canyon. It was a beautiful place to go, and we got there fairly early and were able to get a really nice spot.
One pretty awesome thing was that I made my first ever tin foil dinner! Mmm-mmm yum! One trick I learned is to put tomatoes in with whatever you have! (We had ground beef, potatoes, carrots and tomatoes.) Also I am hooked on lemon pepper! If I can think of any type of food that will go good with lemon pepper, I will use it! So I tried lemon pepper on this and it was delicious! Kyle tried Montreal steak seasoning (which is one of his favorites) and loved his as well!
We spent some good time around the campfire after the sun had gone down and enjoyed laughing and having a good time. :)
After a good nights rest, we had some delicious breakfast made by Blake, and headed over to the reservoir, which I was surprised to see was a pretty popular spot to go fishing! And of course, that was what we had planned to do! Kyle got a one day fishing license for the 21st so he could have fun trying to catch a fish, and I sat by Chantel and talked and ate pistachios. :) And you wouldn't believe how many dragonflies where around the reservoir! There were hundreds just where we were sitting. It was fun to watch them, and I even made a friend with one. He didn't leave my finger for a good ten minutes while we were sitting there.
After fishing, we decided that we would head back home and just have a nice dinner on Blake and Chantel's new deck.
(As an after note, I would like to add how sun burnt I got. I have really light skin that burns easily, and even after 20 years of life, this has not been drilled into my head apparently. Wear sunscreen!!!)
