One Year Anniversay & Temple Sealing!!!!!!

Kyle and I were so excited these past couple of months because for our one year anniversary, we received our Endowments and were Sealed together for Time and all Eternity! We planned to go to the Draper, Utah Temple, which is gorgeous! Also, it turned out to be a beautiful day outside, as well as inside the Temple. :) We were so grateful to have our family and friends who were able to make it attend and share our special day.
What made it so special was that we went through for the first time together, receiving our Endowments and directly following, went straight in to be Sealed. :)

-I need to write about some of these pictures for a second. :)
The second picture with us coming out of the doors, Tyler and Seth accidently opened the doors too hard and they banged open really loud. It was pretty funny :)
The sixth picture with Kyle's family and Tyler is separate and looking sad is because Tyler doesn't have a spouse, so he is sad. But he is 16, so it will be okay :)
The thirteenth picture with Kyle and me is a classic Kyle and JaNae pose. Just us being silly!

My Brother's Wedding!

May 17th!
That is when my brother, Seth, got married!
He got married in the Manti Temple to Gentry Wilson!
It was a beautiful day with all of our family!
Now that Seth is married, all of my siblings are married! Hooray!

Kyle and I helped out Seth and Gentry by hiding their car to make sure nobody decorated it and to also put some gifts in there so they could just get in and go! That was pretty exciting! Haha :)
Also, Kyle set up the GoPro at the reception and did a time lapse video! That is pretty fun to watch and see all the movement of the night!

WE ARE LOVED!!!

I just need to gush a little bit about Kyle's and my new ward! They are all so loving and wonderful to us! Being new in the ward is of course a little nerve wracking, but I am feeling like this is where we need to be right now, and they are making us feel right at home!
First of all, I got my very first calling ever! I get to be a primary teacher for Valiant 9b! There are 5 girls in that class, and I could not be more excited!! Also, I got my lesson book and some cookies from one of my landlords, Carrie, who is in the Primary Presidency.
Also, last night, we were heart attacked with sticky notes on our door! That made us feel so awesome and loved! They were all sticky notes of happiness that we are in the ward and everything! Because we have tons of stairs to get to our door, I kept telling Kyle that I thought I heard someone walking up the stairs, or that someone was on the porch/deck or something! I just ignored it, thinking I was crazy. But then a minute later there was a really fast knock on our door and what sounded like someone running down the stairs! Haha! We opened the door to find the sticky notes and cookies! I am truly grateful for everyone in our new ward that has made us feel welcome!

Surprise! The day of LOVE ♥

Kyle surprised me on Valentine's day this year!
I had told him just to get me some chocolates (because I love chocolate too much)
and he surprised me with chocolates AND a cute bouquet!

Even more awesome was the fact that he did the dishes and cleaned up our apartment!
What a sweetheart!!

We had a nice Valentine's day at home this year.
I made dinner and we watched a movie and just relaxed!
I suggested we go do something the next day so we didn't have to fight the crowds.
We were able to see Monuments Men (which was a really great movie),
and enjoy some Mongolian food at HuHot afterwards.

I am very grateful to have such a sweet, thoughtful and loving husband named Kyle Lynn Hansen!

Do we take things for granted?

Okay, so, this topic has been on my mind the last couple of days. I don't really know what brought it to my mind, but I think it had something to do with I realized how lucky and blessed I am. We have all been given so much, myself especially, and I just had to take a step back and appreciate it all. Now, I'm not just talking about the things I am grateful for, I am also talking about how everything around us is kind of awesome that it will just work for us with a touch a button, a flick of the switch. I am talking about how we can just pick up our phone, and it will call someone, send a text, take a video or picture or let us play a game with someone you don't even know, halfway across the world! I am talking about how you can turn your car on, and just drive wherever your heart desires! Just think about it, if one of the pioneers time traveled to 2014, they would be a little freaked out. I think that is what has gotten me thinking, that what if someone from the past came to the here and now; they would be so curious and mystified, whereas today, we just expect to have things work or go our way. This little thought has given me a whole new perspective. I know I am very lucky to have the things I have. Kyle and I live in a beautiful place with awesome landlords, we own our two cars, we don't have any debt at the moment, and we are able to buy things that we need to live. I really feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Truly, I do. I couldn't ask for anything better. I have awesome family, amazing friends, just all the people in my life, I know I wouldn't be able to live without. But especially I am grateful for my Husband, Kyle. He does so much for me, and loves me unconditionally. I love the Lord and I know that I wouldn't have all the things I do without him in my life. He is my Savior, my Redeemer, and I know that He is always there for not only me, but all of us.

Our First ChristmasTogether Being Married!!

As Christmas started to come closer, we were getting anxious and excited for what that brought! Technically, we have been together 3 Christmas' now, but this is our first one as a married couple! We were hoping to be in our own place to celebrate Christmas, but after we couldn't find a place before December started, we decided that we would just make a place for our tree and celebrate in the basement at the Hansen's. We made it all perfect, and set up our tree with silver and gold ornaments and a little gold star on top. As soon as the tree went up, it felt like Christmas! I was really excited to give presents this year to the people that I love! I am usually not a very good gift giver, so it takes me a little longer to think of what to get a certain person, but in the end, I got all the presents that I wanted to. Kyle was really excited this year because he decided that he wanted to ask for an iPad 2. So the Hansen's and I decided that we would go in on it together to split the costs. We had a fun experience trying to even find an iPad 2. At Verizon, you can get an iPad and have it be on your phone plan so it will have 3G or LTE or whatever it is, but when we went to go buy one, we found out that since the iPad Air just came out, the iPad 2 just flew off the shelves because the price went down. Bad luck for us! So we had to sales lady call another store that said they had a few online and they said that they would send it down to the Spanish Fork store! We were super happy that we were still able to get one! It was a lot of fun watching Kyle open that present and seeing his face light up with excitement! :) What I wanted for Christmas was a craft table that folds down and a bunch a crafty things! For those of you who know me, I am very much that kind of person that likes to make crafts, whether it be with paper, wood, fabric or anything! So I was very excited to get a glue gun, a wood burner tool, and other things! One thing that was a big present was for me, was Kyle said that we will go get an eye exam for me and new contacts! (I have been wearing my glasses for 3 months now because I ran out of contacts, and they are super expensive!) We also got a few kitchen items we didn't get for our wedding which I am excited to use in our new apartment! And also, we were able to receive a lot of presents from my extended family, Kyle's extended family, my parents, Kyle's parents, and both of our siblings. We were pretty much spoiled by everyone and there are a lot of things that are very meaningful to the both of us that I won't write everything that we had gotten. :) Christmas Eve and Day were filled with fun, family and friends! I am grateful for all the Lord has blessed us with, and that we were able to have an amazing Christmas! But I do have to say, that the decoration that I was most excited for this season, and Kyle and vouch for me, was a Nativity set! We looked at a few places for one I might want, and finally found a cute one at the BYU Bookstore! I have also decided that it will stay set up all year long so that we can remember that Jesus is the whole reason why we are here and for all the blessings and great things that we have and are able to have. I hope that all of you and your family were able to have a joyous Christmas and are able to have a wonderful New Years! :)

Hello! This is who we are...

Hello Everyone, whoever you are! :)

I wanted to start a blog for us to remember those fun little things in life that happen, that we will want to look back on and remember, as well as for our future family to find out who we were, who we are, and why we do the things we do.

First off, I want to introduce us! :) My name is JaNae Stickney Hansen.  My husband's name is Kyle Lynn Hansen. We were born 1 year and 1 month a part. We were both raised in Spanish Fork, Utah. I am a secretary and personal assistant. I love to read and watch movies with Kyle! I make him watch some pretty strange ones, but he'll watch them with me anyways! I love Harry Potter, Disneyland and eating food. I am the youngest of four children. I have 1 sister and 2 brothers. :) And my parents are awesome! Kyle is a mechanic/everything to do with cars guy! We are trying to start a business with Kyle's parents having to do with fixing up cars and selling them. It's been a process so far, but we are excited for the outcome! Kyle is a very loving and awesome husband! He has had some struggles in life with asthma and allergies, but he always pushes through it! Kyle loves to work with his hands, whether it be with welding, working on cars, building something or fixing something for us. Now I thought it would be good to share how we got to where we are today. :)

We met on October 7, 2011. It was love at first sight! :) We always wanted to be together and do a lot of fun things together! And we did! In the process, we got to know each other and decided to get married! Kyle proposed on March 22, 2013 on the Heber Valley Railroad.

Then, the planning began for the big day! August 2nd, 2013 was the chosen date! That day was picked specifically because my birthday is June 2nd, and Kyle's birthday is July 2nd. We thought that was a pretty fun coincidence, and wanted to keep it going! :) Our day finally came, and we were married!

It has been just a little over 3 months since we were married, and we are finding out how life is as a married couple! Before we got married, I was living in an apartment in Provo that after we got married, we were both living in. But after being there for 3 months, there were some difficulties in some of the aspects of the apartment and we decided that we had better move. Currently, we are living with Kyle's parents while we figure out where we are going to move. We are hoping to find a place of our own soon, that won't have any problems for us. :)

Well, I am excited to be able to write a blog about different things that we do in our new life together! I've never been the most confident in my writing, but I think this will be a good opportunity for me to become better at expressing myself through words!
